Jenny From the Block Circle Scarf Pattern

About the Jenny From the Block Circle Scarf Pattern:
Circle scarves are definitely a must-have for this winter season! This scarf is extremely simple to knit (you only need one stitch: the knit stitch -- see the knit stitch 'how to' tutorial here). I designed this scarf to have some added texture despite just having one stitch/pattern. Since only the knit stitch is used, the ends will curl in -- creating the look of more layers/different textures even if it's only wrapped around twice.  I made this scarf for the one and only Jenny! :)

Materials I Used:
- Lion Brand Hometown USA yarn (color: Tampa Spice); 2 skeins (~150 yards)
- 36'' circular needles US size 15

The Jenny From the Block Circle Scarf Pattern:
Using 36'' US 15 circular needles, cast on 95 stitches

Round 1 : *knit*
Keep knitting in the round until desired size or until you finish the yarn from 2 skeins.
Bind off.

(Be sure you use a stitch marker to mark the beginning of each round so you know when to start binding off.)

Yes, it really is that simple!  Just one stitch: the knit stitch, and you've got your lovely circle scarf!
Have fun and be sure to send me pictures if you decide to give this pattern a try.

Triple-Layer Infinity Circle Scarf Pattern

About the Triple-Layer Infinity Circle Scarf:
Circle scarves (aka infinity scarves) are becoming an evermore popular fashion piece. Not only do they look great, but they keep you warm & cozy as well! I designed this scarf to be super warm by measuring it out so it'd be long enough to wrap around the neck 3 times. Keep the cold wind away from your neck with this super warm scarf.

Materials I used:
- Lion Brand Hometown USA yarn (color: Syracuse Orange); 2 skeins (~150 yards)
- 36'' circular needles US size 15

The Triple-Layer Infinity Circle Scarf Pattern:
Using 36'' US 15 circular needles, cast on 150 stitches

Round 1 : *K1, P1*
Round 2 : *P1, K1*

Repeat the pattern until desired size or until you finish the yarn from 2 skeins.
Bind off.
Yes, it's that easy!  It took me a few hours over 3 or 4 days to complete this circle scarf.

Customize the scarf to fit your own style by:
  • Making it more/less wide.  If you cast on an odd number of stitches, the pattern will be: row 1: *K1, P1* and just repeat until desired size.
  • Use a different pattern
  • Cast on less stitches so it only wraps around twice.

Have fun and be sure to send me pictures if you make something similar to mine!

Abbreviations used in this pattern:
K1= knit one stitch
P1 = purl one stitch

Close-up of the pattern:

This is how long it is when not wrapped around multiple times:

 Wrapped around loosely twice:

For a cozier fit, wrap around 3 times for a triple-layer of warmth:

Storing Knitting Needles

Question of the Day:
How do you store your knitting needles?
Please do share the clever ways you all organize your knitting needles!

I don't really have that many different types of knitting needles so I have a simple pouch to hold my straight needles and I keep my circular needles in their original packaging and throw them all in a plastic bag.  I keep my circular needles in the original packaging because none of my circular needles have the needle size on the needles themselves; I tried writing the needle size on the needle with permanent market, but it eventually faded. Any suggestions for solutions to my problem? : \

Pouch thingy for my straight needles:
(ignore the outdated grandma pattern of the fabric, haha)

It rolls up into a pretty compact size:

My circular needles are kept in an old zip lock bag >_<
Sorry for the lack of posts; it's really hard to find time to knit these days :(
