Cabled Eunice Scarf
About the scarf:
I made this scarf for Eunice for Christmas this year (hence the name of the scarf). I knit it using 2 different color yarns (gray and white). Since I did it during finals week, I didn't have time to take many pictures of it before wrapping it up.
Materials I used:
- US size 13 straight needles
- gray and white yarn
Cabled Eunice Scarf Pattern:
Holding the 2 color yarns together as one, cast on 13 stitches using US size 13 straight needles
Row 1 (right side): K2, P4, K1, P4, K2
Row 2 (wrong side): K6, P1, K6
Row 3: K2, P4, K1, P4, K2
Row 4: K6, P1, K6
Row 5: K2, P4, K1, P4, K2
Row 6: K2, C4B, P1, C4F, K2
Repeat rows 1-6 until desired length
Bind off and attach tassels
Abbreviations for this pattern:
C4B= slip next 2 sts onto cable needle and hold at back of work, knit next 2 sts from left-hand needle, then knit sts from cable needle.
C4F= slip next 2 sts onto cable needle and hold at front of work, knit next 2 sts from left-hand needle, then knit sts from cable needle.
how much yarn does it require to make the Cabled Eunice scarf?

Thank you Lisa for this pattern. I wanted to learn to cable stitch and this was a great beginners project. I used a soft yellow and a soft variegated white/yellow. It looks like clouds of lemon. :)

I did not keep track of how much yarn I used! Sorry :(
ReplyDeleteBut I am going to estimate and say less than 150 yards of each color. It really depends how long you want to make your scarf as well.
If anyone tries this pattern, please take pictures and send them to me! or link me!
I'd love to see how they turned out :)

Lisa I really love your slouchy hats :
ReplyDeleteit was wonderful ,i'm a beginner.. i just want to know what type of yarn i should use...
ReplyDelete@ranjanisekhar you can use 2 yarns that are not too thick and not too thin. Hold the 2 yarns together as if it were one large thick strand of yarn.
ReplyDeleteYou can use 2 strands of this type of yarn (it's very cheap, yet soft) http://www.shopredheart.com/default.aspx?PageID=62&CategoryID=4&ProductID=1995&RootCatCode=01000
Love the pattern!! Thank you so much for sharing it! I too am a beginner with the cable stich and have been struggling all day until I read your notes for the abbreviations. Thank you!
